Pioneers are expected to sign Brayden "
gunz" Keith and Óscar "
tehqoz" Arco for the
Rocket League Club Championship where they will compete alongside Joshua "
Sweaty" Kleynhans, as first reported by
MajorRLCS. According to sources, the organization tested a number of domestic and import options during this offseason, but have settled on the Five Fears duo. Sweaty retains his position on the starting lineup having played for the organization last season alongside David "
2Die4" Morgenrood and Luis "
LuiisP" Peña. Puerto Rican coach Aaron "
Noxes" Cadiz
signed with the organization earlier this month as part of its RLCS rebuild.
Pioneers are one of
20 organizations invited to the RLCS Club Championship partner program and will be representing Sub-Saharan Africa at the London Kick-Off Weekend in December. The organization, formerly known as Kansas City Pioneers, has been contributing to the esport for over six years, having fielded rosters in North America, Oceania, and SSA. The organization’s last appearance at an RLCS LAN was two years ago, when an Australian roster featuring Luke "
Amphis" Riddell, Ezequiel "
Fibérr" Aranda-Lovito and Lachlan "
Superlachie" Gordon earned a 9th-11th at the 2024 World Championship. Last season, Pioneers signed an SSA roster, but were unable to qualify for any LAN events due to the dominance of Five Fears. However, the organization was picked ahead of Five Fears to represent the region in the upcoming Club Championship and has had its pick of the domestic market this offseason. Gunz was initially going to
rebuild a squad with Five Fears following RLCS 2026, but as the SSA’s top player he’s now expected to move to the region’s representative at the Kick-Off LAN this winter.
After signing Sweaty, 2Die4, and Spanish import LuiisP in November 2025, Pioneers got off to a strong start in RLCS 2026. They won the first Regional Open of the season, defeating Five Fears in the grand finals with a narrow 4-3 win. However, this would be the only series the organization would win over their domestic rival all season. Pioneers played second fiddle to a Five Fears squad that won five Regional Opens and appeared at all three RLCS LANs available to SSA. In their last event as a team, Pioneers placed top-four after a winners bracket upset defeat to ROUNDS and then a loss to Five Fears in the semi finals. LuiisP,
who has now retired from the esport, departed the squad to compete in the European LCQ following the conclusion of the regular season. Since then, the organization has had to watch from the sidelines and has been working on a rebuild for RLCS 2027.
