As the
LFL Invitational is set to begin on January 21, the seeding pots have now been revealed. The distribution was determined through a vote conducted among the participating teams in order to create balanced groups. The draw will take place this evening, during which five groups of four teams will be finalized.
With the recent arrivals of
Yumeea,
Vitality Rising Bees, and
Zephyr Esport, the full lineup of teams is now confirmed. A total of
twenty teams will compete, with two spots at stake for the best non-LFL teams, who will then remain in the French league for the rest of the season.
To establish the seeding, the twenty participating teams were asked to rank the competitors based on who they believed to be the strongest contenders. Each first-place vote awarded one point, a tenth-place vote awarded ten points, and so on. In other words, the ranking position directly corresponded to the number of points granted. In the end, the team with the lowest total score received the highest seed, while the team with the most points ranked last.
Logic respected
Unsurprisingly, the favorites of the competition appear in Pot 1, with French Flair earning an average ranking of 2.65, placing ahead of Galions, Solary, BKROG, and Joblife. Yasin "Nisqy" Dinçer’s Zyb lineup finds itself in Pot 2, while the Game Changers teams occupy the final positions. Most teams provided what can reasonably be considered honest rankings, although there were a few outliers. Project Conquerors notably ranked itself first, while TLN Pirates placed Lille Esports at the top and put French Flair, Galions, and Vitality.Bee in the bottom three.
Several team members reacted to the seeding announcement on social media. César "Wakz" Hugues, Solary co-founder and Head of League of Legends, expressed his satisfaction on X, stating: "It’s nice to see. Now we need to deliver in official matches, but it shows that our offseason moves were largely a success." Meanwhile, Antonella Maria "Aloonea" Tarantino responded to her team’s near-last placement by promising that they would "shock" viewers and exceed expectations.
The official group draw will be held this evening and can be followed live on the
otplol Twitch channel from 7 p.m. The teams will be divided into 5 groups with one team from each pool in each group.
