The list of teams set to compete in the
LFL Invitational is now nearly complete. A few days before the start of the tournament, a new team officially joins the competition: after competing in the
Nexus Tour last season and taking part in the
LFL Division 2 Up & Down tournament,
Zephyr Esport will enter the LFL Invitational for the upcoming split, as announced by the league's account on X on Monday.
Per sources, originally,
this slot was intended to be allocated to one of the three spots reserved for Game Changers teams. However, due to difficulties in securing suitable candidates for this category, the position will instead be granted to another team. Zephyr Esport are retaining one player from last season’s roster, jungler Antoine "
Icarus" Even.
Although the organization did not compete in the LFL or LFL Division 2 last season, it stood out as one of the strongest teams in the Nexus Tour. NEO Zephyr won four stages of the competition before advancing to the playoffs, where the team fell in the finals to Caldya Lab. This performance granted them access to the LFL Division 2 Up & Down, but they were once again defeated by the same opponent.
The team also drew attention due to the presence of figures such as César "Wakz" Hugues in its lineup. One of Solary’s founders and currently Head of League of Legends for the LFL organization, he was part of last year’s roster as the AD Carry.
