After their historic run, Los Ratones will not return to the NLC for 2026. Instead, they will compete in the
LEC Versus, the new winter format, alongside Karmine Corp Blue as the two ERL representatives. This marks their debut in the top-tier LEC, following Riot Games' recent changes to include ERL teams in the LEC Winter Split.
Kevin Edward “Shaves” Tolman and
Jakob "YamatoCannon" Mebdi will join Los Ratones exclusively for the LEC Versus Winter Split, bringing significant coaching experience to the team as they make their debut in the top-tier league. Shaves will serve as assistant coach, while YamatoCannon will take the head coach role, forming a well-known duo in the European scene. Their tenure began with the
Red Bull League of Its Own in Munich and continues into the LEC Versus Winter Split, where Los Ratones will compete against the ten LEC teams and Karmine Corp Blue.
This marks a shift in Los Ratones’ approach, as the team moves away from Marc “
Caedrel” Lamont’s dual role as head coach and streamer to a dedicated coaching staff for this crucial tournament. The rest of their year remains uncertain, with
Caedrel confirming the team will not return to the NLC after this split. With the lifting of LTR restrictions for 2026, Los Ratones may explore opportunities in other ERL leagues, possibly retaining their roster and aiming for a spot in the LFL or Prime League.
