The anthem for the 2026
League of Legends World Championship ”Know My Name” by True Damage, officially arrived Thursday. The band’s freshest single has immense expectations as the official Worlds anthem, marking their first comeback in seven years, along with its accompanying music video following Lee “
" Sang-hyeok’s path towards his sixth Summoner’s Cup victory.
This fall could fulfill the promise of all Riot Games’ bands releasing new music following HEARTSTEEL’s return. The anthem’s release fully revs up the start of the biggest tournament in the LoL Esports calendar.
What story does Know My Name tell?
“All roads lead to him" was the tagline used by League of Legends’ official X account when they teased the music video. The Greatest Player of All Time has had an illustrious career, highs and lows, so fitting all relevant storylines into a music video’s full length is complicated. The expectations matched Faker’s prestige, and the visuals deliver a beautiful retelling of the mid laner’s legend.
Faker’s nadir, getting caught by Ruler’s Varus at the 2017 World Finals, followed by the midlaner sobbing on stage, sets the setting: the end of the SKT T1 dynasty. The most memorable moments of SKT’s first dominant spell follow, recapping some of the best moments from the 2013, 2015, and 2016 championships.
As the Korean wanders a hall of legends, an alley decorated with banners from 2017, 2018, and 2019 World winners. A night walk on the metropolis, with nods to the 2020 and 2021 champions, helps Faker ponder his inability to return to the top. Suddenly, a new supporting cast appears at T1 Tower: ZOFGK.
Trials, tribulations, and finals struggles start to test the new roster. T1 reaches its World Finals in five years but can’t overcome DRX, which leads Faker to a familiar scenario: a player sobbing on stage. Vowing never to fall short, Faker and T1 dominate the next three finals by dismantling Weibo Gaming, outplaying BiliBili Gaming, and conquering KT Rolster in the Telecomm Wars.
Faker’s quote at the 2025 World Finals teaser: “If you want it, you'll have to take it from me,” births T1’s next dynasty. Different iterations of Faker’s thirteen-year career lift his legacy and the Summoner’s Cup, and he hits his famous silence pose. As the video ends, Faker stares at the space where he’d place his seventh trophy.
Know My Name’s official music video had a full-circle moment.
RiotVe1vet,
the creative director for True Damage’s song, also produced the 2016 T1 Worlds skins.
WIZZ and CRCR animated the music video and also
worked on the Locke and Soul Fighter cinematics and the Neon Daredevil cinematic for Wild Rift.
The return of True Damage
Know My Name breaks a seven-year-long hiatus for the third band in Riot Games’ music department. The band debuted at Worlds 2019 and released the single Giants, produced by Yasuo and performed by the characters Akali, Qiyana, Ekko, and Senna. The original song was released with an accompanying in-game skin for each champion.
However, this return brought lineup changes because the original voices for Qiyana, Ekko, and Senna weren’t featured. Multitalented K-pop idol Soyeon returns to keep Akali’s flair alive, joined by Mexican pop artist Sofía Reyes, Chicago rapper Vic Mensa, and Nashville R&B singer Coco Jones.
- Qiyana: Becky G > Sofía Reyes
- Ekko: Thutmose & DUCKWRTH > Vic Mensa
- Senna: Keke Palmer > Coco Jones
