We'll have to wait one more day to find out who will claim the final spot in the VCT Americas Stage 2 Play-In. The VCL 2026 Americas Last Chance Qualifier Grand Final between 2Game and Shopify Rebellion Black was interrupted multiple times due to technical issues affecting the network infrastructure of the tournament venue in Monterrey, Mexico. Started on Wednesday, July 29, the match suffered multiple technical issues. It eventually could not be completed and will resume Thursday, July 30.
In a statement shared on social media, the tournament organizers explained that they made this decision to preserve the event's competitive integrity, safeguard the players' well-being, and allow time to resolve the connectivity issues that have disrupted the competition. With a spot in the Tier 1 competition at stake, it is essential to provide both teams with a stable competitive environment so they can perform under fair LAN conditions.
Competitive integrity is at stake
The first technical issues emerged shortly after the opening map concluded, and another interruption occurred midway through Split, with Shopify Rebellion holding the lead. After several hours of delays, the second map resumed and concluded with a 14–12 victory for Shopify Rebellion. However, play was halted again shortly after the start of the third map, Haven.
The third map was completed, and 2Game secured the win. As the series is a best-of-five, two more maps could be played to determine the final team to qualify for the VCT Americas Stage 2 Play-In. These incidents are far from unprecedented, as similar technical issues have for example occurred in some VALORANT competitions in Mexico in recent years.
