Team Vitality have announced the historic departure of
Rocket League franchise star, Alexis "
zen" Bernier,
who is expected to join Gentle Mates ahead of the
RLCS Club Championship. The French prodigy has risen to superstardom since joining the organization in February 2022 as a 15-year-old. He won the RLCS 2022-23 World Championship, which was the final win in a momentous five event win streak that had never been achieved before. During his time with the organization, he competed alongside other legendary players like Evan "
M0nkey M00n" Rogez, Brice "
ExoTiiK" Bigeard, Yanis "
Alpha54" Champenois and Andrea "
Radosin" Radovanović, becoming a household name himself in the esport. In his place, Team Vitality
are now expected to sign João "
diaz" Henrique, Nassim "
nass" Bali and Oskar "
Oski" Gozdowski.
After four years with Team Vitality, the 19-year-old is now set to join Gentle Mates in a high-profile deal alongside Karmine Corp duo, Axel "Vatira" Touret and Tristan "Atow." Soyez. The trio have been entertaining offers from the three big French organizations in the Rocket League including Team Vitality, Karmine Corp and Gentle Mates. In recent weeks, the superteam has been nearing a deal with Gentle Mates, who have had to negotiate buyouts with the other two organizations. Zen won the 2v2 World Championship alongside Atow during RLCS 2026 and made his intentions clear to compete with the Belgian professional earlier in the offseason. He now leaves Team Vitality with a World Championship title under his name, 12 RLCS LAN appearances and six Regional Open victories in Europe.
