Sources: Barça eSports set to enter Game Changers circuit with Annie, Devilasxa, Toki, Miyori and Lyda

Barça Esports are set to enter the VALORANT Game Changers circuit. Already competing in VCL Spain for the past two years, the Catalan organization will strengthen its presence in the game by launching a new roster on the Game Changers scene, sources tell Sheep Esports.

The team will be composed of experienced Game Changers players, including Spaniards María “Toki” Pérez, Alba “Annie” García, and Paula “devilasxa” Martínez. They will be joined by Turkish players İlayda “Lyda” Güzeldere and Eylül “miyori” Sarıoğlu. All five competed in VCT Game Changers EMEA last season and will be led by head coach Fabián “Quick” Pereira.

The club’s decision to enter the competitive scene reflects two distinct ambitions. The first is the importance it places on women’s teams. In other sports, particularly football, the Catalan organization has long demonstrated a strong commitment to investing in and developing its women’s teams, both in terms of resources and performance. That same philosophy is now being extended to Esports, with Barça making its entry into the Game Changers circuit.

The club also hopes that this move will benefit its broader ambitions in VALORANT. With the renewal of partner slots for VCT EMEA scheduled for 2027, Barça eSports is aiming to position itself among the organizations that could earn a long-term place in the league. By launching a Game Changers roster, the club sends a clear signal to Riot Games and to the wider community, asserting its desire to establish a sustained and meaningful presence in the game. Whether this strategy will ultimately prove successful remains to be seen.

For their debut on the Game Changers scene, Barça eSports appear far from content with simply participating. With a roster made up entirely of players who already competed at the VCT Game Changers level last year, the organization can realistically aim for qualification to the top European competition as early as the first split.

The team will be managed by Quick, marking his first experience as a coach. The Spanish-Uruguayan spent much of his playing career in the Spanish VALORANT scene before recently stepping away from competition. He left UCAM Esports Club after announcing his retirement as a player to pursue a new chapter in coaching.

The roster itself brings a wealth of experience. Toki notably competed at Championship in 2024 and this year with Falcons Vega and GIANTX. She previously played for DVM Miss, where she was already teammates with Annie. Lyda and miyori also took part in the competition with HEROIC Valkyries before the roster disbanded ahead of Stage 2. Finally, devilasxa spent the entire season with SK Nebula and has been a fixture of the Game Changers scene for the past three years. With this lineup, Barça eSports will enter the competition next season, aiming to quickly establish themselves as a major contender and continue expanding their VALORANT division.
