After a long offseason for the organization,
NRG are expected to sign Jayden "
2Piece" Horton, Dylan "
Wahvey" Thanus, and Kenneth "
frosty" Walz for the
Rocket League Club Championship, sources told
Sheep Esports. While an agreement hasn’t fully been reached yet, the players have locked in as a trio and are nearing a deal with the organization. 2Piece and Wahvey recently competed at the RLCS 2026 World Championship under Virtus.pro. The duo have been searching the market to replace Cohen "
Tawk" Hawco,
who is expected to sign with
Gen.G Mobil1 Racing alongside Landon
"BeastMode" Konerman and Nicholas "
Chronic" Iwanski. Frosty, who was initially meant to lead a Gen.G rebuild this offseason was allowed to explore his options when a deal for that trio became a reality. The 18-year-old now looks set to link up with 2Piece and Wahvey for the foreseeable future
NRG have been battling for a roster all offseason. For two years, the organization has supported one of the best North American lineups of all time featuring BeastMode, Massimo
"Atomic" Franceschi and Daniel
"Daniel" Piecenski. With the trio unofficially entering free agency this offseason, other organizations entered the picture. According to sources, Daniel and Atomic
are expected to sign with Shopify Rebellion to link up with Jason
"Firstkiller" Corral, while head coach Matthew "
Satthew" Ackermann
is set to follow the duo. BeastMode, who has competed with Daniel for over three years, will depart the legendary lineup to join Gen.G. NRG, who was invited to the RLCS Club Championship as a partner, showed interest in both rosters but ultimately lost out.
2Piece and Wahvey
announced their departure from Virtus.pro, together with Tawk, earlier this offseason. The trio were just coming off a surprise top-six placement at the 2026 World Championship, with a run that started in the play-in phase. Initially, they said they were
open to sticking as a trio following the event, but were exploring their options for the offseason. Quickly, Tawk became a target for Gen.G having developed an offseason partnership with BeastMode who was departing NRG. As a result, 2Piece and Wahvey were left to search for their own opportunities while multiple other North American teams finalized their rosters without them, including both
FUT Esports and
Spacestation Gaming, who are expected to pick up Logan "
Lj" Wilt and Rexton "
solar" M respectively.
Frosty entered the market
when Gen.G announced they were allowing him to “explore opportunities with other teams”, despite the organization initially focusing a rebuild around the 18-year-old. The American professional, who had a brief stint on NRG before RLCS 2024, joined Gen.G ahead of Split 2 after departing FUT Esports. Alongside Christopher "
MaJicBear" Acevedo and Jordan "
Evoh" Manley, frosty narrowly missed out on qualifying for the RLCS World Championship after a second-place finish in the North American LCQ. While he has never appeared at an RLCS Major, frosty remains one of the most promising players outside of the elite teams and has become an established member of the RLCS since making his debut in 2024. Together with 2Piece and Wahvey, the trio combine to comfortably compete with the best in the region.
