VALORANT's competitive scene is entering a new era. According to Sheep Esports sources, Ava “florescent” Eugene has reached a verbal agreement with Apeks for the upcoming VCT EMEA season, marking the first time in the scene's history that a player from the Game Changers circuit will debut in Tier 1. The Vietnamese-Canadian Duelist is Apeks’ first recruit of the offseason — according to our information, she was among the best players in the organization's tryouts. Over the past two years, florescent has been nothing short of extraordinary in the Game Changers circuit. Alongside her Shopify Rebellion teammates, she dominated 2023 and 2024, winning five out of six VCT GC North America splits and finishing as runners-up in the sixth.

Even more impressively, Shopify Rebellion claimed back-to-back victories at the Game Changers Championship — the Worlds of the Game Changers circuit — in 2023 and 2024. Florescent's individual performances were equally remarkable: She finished both tournaments as the highest-rated player, and earned finals MVP and overall MVP honors two years in a row. Her stats were unparalleled, earning a 1.45 rating in both 2023 and 2024, far ahead of the runners-up, her teammate Sarah “sarah” Simpson in 2023 (1.30) and MIBR’s Nicolas “srN” Niederauer in 2024 (1.23).

Florescent’s list of achievements doesn’t end there. The Jett main holds the record for the most kills in a series during an international Game Changers match, achieving 112 kills in the Grand Final of the 2023 Worlds against Team Liquid Brazil. In short, florescent has unceasingly dominated the Game Changers circuit over the last two seasons. It makes sense that she'll be the first GC player to debut on VALORANT's biggest stage.

At the end of October, Apeks — winners of the 2024 EMEA Ascension tournament — parted ways with two players: Dom “soulcas” Sulcas, who is set to join Movistar KOI, and Kajetan “kaajak” Haremski, who is set to join Fnatic, as previously reported by Sheep Esports. For now, the remaining roster consists of Auni “AvovA” Chahade, Tautvydas “hype” Paldavicius, and in-game leader Michał “MOLSI” Łącki.
