LĂS has won the CBLOL 2027 Promotion Tournament by defeating KaBuM! Ilha das Lendas 3-1 in the Grand Final. With this victory, the Brazilian organisation has successfully retained its place in the CBLOL for the 2027 season as a guest team.
This has been a really unusual campaign for LĂS, as the team had to defend its place in the league despite winning CBLOL Split 2 and qualifying for Worlds 2026. Moreover, the organization was required to compete in the Promotion Tournament just two days after lifting the CBLOL trophy against FURIA.
âTo me, itâs kind of bizarre. Thereâs no other explanation [...] Itâs not because weâre playing two days in a row. That doesnât really matter to me. The issue is revealing information, and thatâs what I didnât really like,â LOS support Gabriel âAckermanâ Aparicio told Sheep Esports.
LĂS Dominates CBLOL Promotion Tournament
LĂS entered the Promotion Tournament as the defending guest team after Isurusâ slot was reallocated to the Brazilian organization following its withdrawal from CBLOL. During the event, the team was up against five squads from Circuito Desafiante and Liga Regional Sul in a double-elimination bracket.
LĂS began its campaign with a 3-0 victory over KaBuM! Ilha das Lendas in the Upper Bracket semifinal before sweeping Estral Esports by the same scoreline to advance to the Grand Final.
KaBuM!, on the other hand, made a successful run through the Lower Bracket to set up a rematch against LĂS. Although the final was more competitive than their first encounter, KaBuM! could only manage to win one map as LĂS closed out the series 3-1 to keep its CBLOL spot.
âI'll be honest, it was a shitty game schedule. And on top of that, they don't even give me the MVP. Thanks CBLOL. Anyway, LOS dominated both the 1st and 2nd division. Now it's on to Worlds,â said LĂSâ top laner, Kim "Zest" Dong-min.
LOS Heads to the Biggest League of Legends stage
With CBLOL 2027 slot now confirmed, LĂS will be focusing on its first-ever appearance at the League of Legends World Championship. As the regionâs first seed, the team has directly qualified for the Swiss Stage, which begins on October 23.
Before the Swiss Stage gets underway, FURIA, MVK Esports, Cloud9, and Karmine Corp will compete in the Play-In for a place in the Main Event. All best-of-three (BO3) and best-of-five (BO5) matches at the tournament will use Fearless Draft and be played on Patch 26.20.
