LoL - Worlds 2025: Movistar KOI and Vivo Keyd Stars eliminate Fnatic and PSG Talon

After the first teams qualified for the bracket stage, Anyone’s Legend and KT Rolster, we now have the first teams eliminated from Worlds: Fnatic, Europe’s third seed, and PSG Talon, the LCP’s third seed, this Sunday. Both teams exit the tournament with 0-3 records, having taken only a single Nexus throughout the event. In an interview with Sheep Esports, Óscar "Oscarinin" Muñoz said, "The roster needs to be changed up. It’s clearly not working out. I cannot believe we are this boosted."

The rest of the competition looks easier for the Spanish organization than for the Brazilians. MKOI will have to face Team Secret Whales, the LCP’s second seed, while VKS will have a much tougher challenge as they will face Bilibili Gaming, the LPL champions. As expected, Movistar KOI proved superior to Fnatic for the fifth time this year in six series. All three games were one-sided stomps, with none lasting beyond 28 minutes. Javier "Elyoya" Prades delivered a standout performance on Qiyana, while David "Supa" Garcia shone on Zeri to open the scoring in the series.

Fnatic fought back in Game 2, largely thanks to a strong showing from their botlane, particularly Mihael "Mikyx" Mehle, who became the team’s source of hope. Supa played the first Vayne of Worlds 2025 and dominated with it to keep his team alive, and Joseph "Jojopyun" Pyun also performed well on Taliyah—enough to avoid banning Azir, which Fnatic picked on red side, but still ended up losing.

In the second elimination BO3 between VKS and PSG, the Brazilian team completely dominated the first game in one of the shortest matches of Worlds, lasting only 25 minutes. PSG managed to secure just three kills compared to VKS’s 26 minutes, highlighted by an outstanding performance from Matheus "Morttheus" Motta on Sivir, finishing 10/0/12. Felipe "Boal" Boal was untouchable on Sion, the most picked toplane champion so far, boasting an impressive 85% win rate with eleven wins and only two losses.

In Game 2, Hung "Karsa" Hao-Hsuan delivered a masterclass on Jarvan IV, constantly invading Pedro Arthur "Disamis" Gonçalves’ jungle to even the series and secure PSG Talon’s first and only win at these Worlds. In the third game, the momentum completely swung back. Disamis made an impressive play, slipping through vision to get first blood and take out VKS’s topside jungle. From there, the game snowballed in VKS’s favor, with Morttheus showing incredible aggression on Yunara to keep his team alive.
