As previously reported by sources close to
Sheep Esports,
Global Esports will not be among the eight partner teams competing in VCT Pacific over the next two seasons. Having just made their
VALORANT Champions debut and claimed their first VCT Pacific title, the organisationâs departure marks the end of its involvement in
VALORANT, as well as its competitive esports operations altogether.
In a video posted on his X account, Rushindra Sinha, the organisationâs CEO and co-founder, announced that Global Esports would cease their esports operations following the conclusion of the season. As a result, all five players on the roster are now free to explore their options for next season.
During his statement, Rushindra Sinha explained that the decision had already been made some time ago. âWhen Riot reached out to us and asked us about our future, we told them 2026 was more than likely going to be our last year in esports.â He also reflected on the season that had just concluded, which proved to be one of the organizationâs most successful from a competitive standpoint. Discussions took place regarding a potential acquisition of the organization by Revenant Esports, a detail confirmed by the organization's founder in an interview with Sheep Esports a few days ago. Sinha also mentioned a desire to focus exclusively on VALORANT, rather than expanding into other games.
On to new horizons
For the first time in its history, Global Esports competed at several international events this season, including Masters London, the Esports World Cup and VALORANT Champions. The organizationâs most prestigious achievement will undoubtedly be its VCT Pacific Stage 2 title, which it won this year. Before that triumph, Global Esports had never achieved particularly notable results in the league, although it remained the only Indian representative in VCT. The organization will therefore not retain its place in the competition for the coming years, as it brings its esports operations to a close. âThis was the last day of Global Esports as a competitive roster. We will no longer be competing with teams,â Rushindra Sinha stated.
However, the organizationâs founder explained that while Global Esports would no longer compete in esports, the brand would evolve and expand into other sectors. The organization is now launching GE Studios, a new venture that will retain the existing branding. The project is expected to focus on artificial intelligence in the gaming industry over the coming years.
