Falke Esports joins the Spanish league for 2026

The Liga Española de League of Legends (LES) is now complete, with all eight teams, following Falke Esports’ promotion to the Spanish first divisionas announced by the organization on Thursday. They join the seven other teams already locked in: Los Heretics, GIANTX iTero, Barça eSports, UCAM Esports, LUA Gaming, Movistar KOI Fénix, and the University of Barcelona.

Per sources, the final spot came down to a decision between Ramboot Club and Falke. The league was aware of financial difficulties Ramboot went through last season which were communicated to the league by Ramboot. The league requested financial documents to demonstrate sustainability and granted Ramboot several days. But the club was unable to provide them at time, leading the slot to be awarded to Falke.

As of January 29, the league’s schedule and format have yet to be announced, while several Tier 1 and ERL competitions are already underway. In an AMA, LastLap explained that, due to the rush to start the league, they plan to organize a first, quick format in mid-February.

Having joined League of Legends at the end of 2024, Falke entered the LVP SuperLiga Second Division, taking one of the spots left vacant by the departures of Case Esports, Dango, and Xoldiers. In 2025, the team reached the playoffs in all three splits, finishing 5th–6th in Winter, followed by two 3rd–4th place finishes in Spring and Summer. They also competed in the 2024–25 Circuito Tormenta, where they finished third behind Nocturne Gale and Oxygen Gaming.

In addition to their League of Legends journey, Falke has also been active in other titles. Between 2024 and 2025, the organization competed in Liga Radiante, and in May 2025 made the jump to Challengers Spain Rising, the Tier 1 of Spanish VALORANT, further expanding its presence and experience within the national competitive ecosystem.

For 2026, the Spanish league cut its teams from ten to eight, lowering costs and creating a more selective ecosystem, with all locked teams having played in last year’s SuperLiga except UB and Falke. After the previous organizer, LVP, stepped back, several candidates, including GGTech Entertainment and LastLap, competed for the rights, with LastLap ultimately securing them in mid-November, supported by major Spanish ERL teams who gave positive feedback and actively advocated for them.
