The
League of Legends Championship Series (
LCS) Summer Split
Most Valuable Player is Kim “
" Min-Cheol. Alongside his team,
, the superstar botlane player returned to North America in stellar fashion, winning two championships and now adding the most coveted individual honor.
Mark Twain helped popularize the saying, “
There are lies, damned lies, and statistics,” and Berserker’s stats spelled disaster for his rivals.
The Korean led the league in Gold Difference@10, CS Difference@10, Damage per minute, and Damage Share. He was also the runner-up in KDA behind teammate Kacper
Słoma, who played only three regular-season series.
This isn’t the first time the Korean has won MVP. During his third split in Cloud9, 2023 Spring, Berserker won his first MVP award and the LCS Championship. LYON’s bot laner also won the LCS Annual Slayer Title. Though less prestigious, this award is handed to the player with the most kills across all regular seasons.
Right where he left off
The Korean superstar dominated during his first stint in the LCS. After competing in the LCK with DN Freecs in 2025, Berserker picked up right where he left off. His laning and teamfighting prowess remained as crisp as fans remember, but his decision-making and fearlessness are trademark signatures of his performance.
However, this return has brought a new side to the Korean’s adaptability. Berserker played three non-marksman champions across the 2026 Summer Split, which brought an unpredictable factor to LYON’s drafts. Jayce and Taliyah were played once and were also the most notable off-meta champions the bot laner picked.
The league in their chokehold
The Mexican organization has had an incredible year that resembles its dominant streaks back in the LLN and the LLA. The team’s aggressive, controlled approach, which defined them year-round, landed everyone but the aforementioned Inspired on either the First or Second All-Pro team.
LYON joined C9, CLG, TSM, and TL as one of the few organizations to win back-to-back championships. If the team continues its upward trajectory and secures a third championship in a row at the Gas South Arena in Atlanta, Georgia, the Pride would join an even more exclusive club.
