BBL Esports have allowed some players from their
VALORANT roster to speak with other teams as part of the organization’s planning for the 2027 season, the team’s esports director announced on Thursday. BBL have not confirmed any roster changes.
The team also emphasized that all its players remain under contract and that the organization will evaluate all available options before making decisions about the roster for the next season. The esports director said the organization will continue to provide updates as the situation becomes clearer.
All five players and the Head Coach on BBL’s current roster are under contract with the organization through 2027, meaning any potential move would require an agreement between the parties rather than a free-agent departure.
2026 campaign
The Turkish organization enjoyed a strong start to the 2026 season, qualifying for Masters Santiago through the Kickoff Upper Bracket. However, BBL were eliminated by
G2 Esports in the second round of the Lower Bracket at the international event.
The team later finished fourth place at the
Esports World Cup 2026, losing to
Nongshim RedForce, before suffering early playoff exit in
VCT EMEA Stage 1. BBL lost to
Team Heretics in the Lower Bracket of Stage 1 and Fire Flux Esports in the Lower Bracket of Stage 2.
VCT EMEA moves to new format in 2027
The roster discussions also come at a time of
major changes to the VCT structure. Starting in 2027, the VCT EMEA region will feature eight partnered teams, while the remaining four spots will be determined through open qualifiers across Europe, Türkiye, and MENA sub-regions.
The new format will create a different competitive landscape for organizations in the region, with teams having to secure one of the eight partnered positions or compete through the open qualification path.
For BBL, which has been part of the VCT EMEA ecosystem, the changes add another factor to consider as the organization evaluates its roster and plans for the 2027 season.
