10 under-20 talents to watch at VALORANT Champions 2026

VALORANT Champions Shanghai is shaping up to be one of the most exciting editions of the tournament. Not only does it feature several underdog teams that defeated giants to reach VALORANT’s biggest stage, but it will also be packed with under-20 talent ready to keep fans on the edge of their seats.

A total of 10 players under the age of 20 will compete at Champions 2026 coming from the four VCT regions, bringing a mix of explosive aim, fresh playstyles, and fearlessness that has already disrupted International Leagues and Masters events throughout the year.

LOUD will bring the highest number of under-20 players to Champions among the qualified teams, including Lucca "lukxo" Travaioli (19-year-old), Roberto "erde" Lobos (18-year-old), and Enzo "tkzin" Zimiani (18-year-old).

While lukxo has been with LOUD since January 2025, erde joined the team ahead of VCT Americas Stage 1 2026. Meanwhile, tkzin was loaned from KRÜ Spark after the Brazilian organization parted ways with duelist Leandro "Virtyy" Moreno before Stage 2.

The roster changes helped LOUD significantly improve its results, with the team finishing as the runner-up in Stage 2 and securing its first Champions appearance since 2023.

Both erde and lukxo are also contracted to LOUD through the end of 2027, according to the VCT Global Contract Database, meaning the roster’s young core is expected to stay intact heading into next season.

Timothée "Timotino" Lavigne Dupont from 100 Thieves is another U20 duelist in the Americas who is known for his aggressive Neon gameplay. The 19-year-old joined the organization ahead of the 2026 VCT season as part of a major roster rebuild, and the results have consistently improved since then, with 100T lifting the Esports World Cup and VCT Stage 2 Americas trophies.

As a result, the team secured the Americas' first seed for Champions after defeating LOUD in the Stage 2 Grand Final. Moreover, 100 Thieves are also looking to retain the duelist for another year, as he is already contracted to the organization through 2027, according to the VCT Global Contract Database.

Similar to Americas, EMEA will also send a number of promising young players to the crowning event, one of them being Karmine Corp’s duelist Burak "LêwN" Alkan.

The 19-year-old joined KC’s active roster ahead of Kickoff EMEA 2026 and brought decent Tier 1 experience after previously playing for BBL Esports. He helped BBL finish among the top five during Kickoff, Stage 1, and Stage 2 in 2025 before moving to the French club.

Now contracted through 2027, LêwN recently lifted his first VCT trophy with KC by defeating Team Liquid in the Stage 2 EMEA Grand Final.

Team Liquid’s Ognjen "GSR" Bondžić (18-year-old) has recently been promoted from the organization’s academy roster to replace the team’s former duelist, Semyon "purp0" Borchev. He is not just a temporary replacement, as according to the VCT Global Contract Database, the club has already locked him down until the end of the 2029 VCT season.

VALORANT Champions will be GSR’s first-ever VCT event, and Team Liquid is "confident this move gives us the best opportunity for success at Champions Shanghai."

Another 18-year-old duelist in EMEA who instantly stole the spotlight is Efe "s0pp" Tur from FUT Esports, who brought consistency to the team’s performance and helped them achieve a top-three finish in both Stage 1 and Stage 2 EMEA. He will now make his VALORANT Champions debut on September 27 against JD Gaming.

Ștefan "Sayonara" Mîtcu (18-year-old), who was the youngest winner and MVP in the Spanish Challengers League’s history, has been signed by Team Vitality through the end of the 2027 season. While the team has struggled recently with inconsistent form in VCT, the Moldovan player has impressed with his individual performances.

Even in Stage 2 EMEA, where Team Vitality was eliminated in the first round of the playoffs, Sayonara ended up as the second-highest-rated player in the tournament.

Nongshim RedForce has been enjoying its most successful season yet, with the organization lifting its first-ever regional and international trophies in the form of Pacific Kickoff and Masters Santiago. The team also finished as the runner-up in Stage 2 Pacific while achieving a top-three finish at the Esports World Cup 2026.

The Ascension team will be making its VALORANT Champions debut this year, and it’s safe to say its 18-year-old initiator Jung "Xross" Hwan has been instrumental in this journey. He is also the youngest player heading into Champions 2026 and will next face title defender NRG on September 25.

Lastly, Moses "Splash" Jonathan (19-year-old) made his VCT debut by joining TYLOO ahead of the 2026 season and quickly became one of the roster’s best-performing players. That said, the team struggled to achieve the desired results at the beginning of the year, which forced them to make constant changes throughout the season.

However, bringing in former Wolves Esports IGL Pong "SiuFatBB" Ka Hei and analyst Sushant "Ominous" Jha proved to be a turning point for the team, as TYLOO lifted its first-ever regional trophy at Stage 2 China 2026 to qualify for Champions Shanghai. Due to his explosive performances throughout the year, Splash was also awarded Duelist of the Year title and will stay with TYLOO until the end of the 2028 VCT season.
