Following Rasmus "
Caps" Winther's induction into the Hall of Legends, several of the game's legends have appeared in videos to congratulate him, including the first two inductees,
Lee "Faker" Sang-hyeok and Jian "Uzi" Zi-Hao. 2020 World Champion Heo "
ShowMaker" Su also recorded a video congratulating Caps and looking back on their first-ever matchup.
ShowMaker looked back on their first-ever matchup in the 2019 Worlds quarterfinals: “I still remember getting completely thrown off by Caps’ roams and losing that series.” At the time, Caps was at the peak of his career, having just reached the 2018 Worlds final with Fnatic and was on his way to leading G2 Esports to another final.
An inspiration for ShowMaker
After that series, ShowMaker spoke about how much
Caps became an inspiration to him: “
After that, you became a huge source of inspiration for my own playstyle. You are a player I have tremendous respect for, so seeing you inducted into the Hall of Legends makes me really happy as well.”
Caps inspired ShowMaker so much that he went on to reach the Worlds final himself the following year in 2020, and ultimately won it after beating Sunning in the Grand Final. They would face each other again at Worlds the following year, this time in the semifinals, where ShowMaker and his teammates came out on top.
Since then, the two legends have faced each other twice at the 2022 Worlds during the group stage, with both BO1s won by DWG KIA. They met again in a BO1 during the Swiss Stage of the 2023 Worlds, this time with the Samurai coming out on top. Their most recent meeting came in the group stage of the 2026 Esports World Cup, where DK won the elimination match before going on to lift the trophy.
ShowMaker, a Potential Inductee
ShowMaker is a living legend of the game himself. At 26, he is still in great form and continues to excel at the highest level of the LCK. One of the few one-club men in
League of Legends esports, his résumé is already stacked, with three LCK titles, an EWC title, and, most importantly, a World Championship.
Beyond his accolades, ShowMaker is one of the great emperors of the Korean midlane. He has been the face of DK for almost a decade now, and seeing him inducted into the
Hall of Legends in the coming years would hardly be surprising. It feels like a matter of when, rather than if.
