Already teased in previous videos released by Riot Games, Caitlyn is now joining the roster of playable characters in 2XKO, the fighting game from the studio behind League of Legends and VALORANT. She will be available in-game starting January 20, coinciding with the official launch of the game after several months of open beta, as well as the start of its Season 1. On top of that, console players on Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5 will finally be able to get their hands on this free-to-play fighter set in the LoL universe from January 20 onward.
Just like her League of Legends version, Caitlyn uses her rifle to deal damage from long range, but she also has a few close-combat moves, even if her gameplay mostly revolves around keeping opponents at bay. As on Summoner’s Rift, the Sheriff of Piltover also has traps that can slow or immobilize enemies standing in front of her. To stay true to her lore and the Arcane series, cupcakes and Hextech technology, Piltover’s signature innovation and Caitlyn’s hometown specialty, are also featured in-game.
12 Champions for Season 1
In open beta on PC since last October 7, Riot Games’ fighting game is already welcoming its twelfth champion. To satisfy Arcane fans, Vi, Warwick, Jinx, and Ekko are already part of the roster, with Caitlyn as the next addition to 2XKO. Coming from the same region in the lore, Blitzcrank is also available, alongside champions from many other parts of Runeterra: Yasuo and Ahri represent Ionia, Braum comes from Freljord, Darius from Noxus, and Illaoi from Bilgewater, while Teemo is currently the only playable Yordle.
2XKO is a tag-team fighting game where two players face off using teams of two champions each on a large, dynamic stage. Each team alternates between a frontline active champion and a second one in support. The gameplay is built around swapping characters: the support champion can be called in for a quick assist attack, or you can instantly switch places with your partner to catch your opponent off guard. Whether played solo, with one player controlling both champions, or online as a duo, with one character per player, the focus stays firmly on cooperation, team synergy, and mastering combos.
