There are currently 27 different characters
VALORANT is a first-person shooter developed by Riot Games, where five players face off against another team of five, each playing as a character with unique abilities and backgrounds. In VALORANT, there are currently 28 different characters, categorized by specialties. There are four distinct roles: Controller, Sentinel, Initiator, and Duelist.
Each of these roles involves a different style of play and a unique way of contributing to the team—whether it's supporting teammates, gathering information, or simply taking down opponents with a spell. Duelists open the rounds by taking aggressive duels and creating space for the team. Initiators disrupt opposing defenses with their reconnaissance or disruption tools.
Sentinels lock down sites and protect flanks with their traps and surveillance gadgets. Finally, Controllers shape attacks by blocking vision and controlling strategic passages. Unlike League of Legends, where the characters live in Runeterra, a completely fictional world, VALORANT's lore is based on alternate Earths. At the game's pre-release, during the Beta in mid-2020, ten characters were available for players.

The numbers in the 'No.' column indicate the order in which agents were recruited into the VALORANT Protocol, according to the game's lore. Agent number 8 has not yet been revealed in the storyline, which explains their absence from the list.
