adverso exits after 8 months with the team
KRÜ Esports announced on Friday, July 11, the departure of Benjamín "adverso" Poblete, who will not be part of the team for Stage 2 of the VCT Americas, set to begin on July 18. He is therefore stepping down from the Argentine-Chilean organization, where he had been active for nearly eight months since joining in November 2024. His replacement has not yet been revealed, but is expected to be announced before competition resumes.
Previously a player for All Knights and 00Nations in South America's VALORANT Tier 2 scene, adverso moved up to the VCT after a strong year that culminated in an appearance at Champions Seoul. With the recruitment of the Initiator, the roster became fully Chilean, though results were mixed. After finishing just off the podium at the Kickoff Americas, Sergio Agüero’s squad failed to advance in Stage 1, finishing in the top 5-6 after a narrow playoff loss to Evil Geniuses (14-12 / 13-11).
In need of a rebound
The Esports World Cup qualifiers weren’t much better, as KRÜ failed to secure a spot in the Saudi competition following a loss to NRG. However, the team found a glimmer of hope by finishing second at the Tixinha & Sacy Invitational, a tournament featuring South American teams from the VCT Americas. KRÜ ultimately fell in the final to Leviatán, another organization seeking to regain confidence in VALORANT.
KRÜ Esports will return to Los Angeles and Riot Games’ competition arena in a few days with a new player, aiming to secure a spot in Paris for Champions 2025. As for adverso, he has yet to announce his next move.
