Back-to-Back Champions
Back-to-back success this Sunday, August 17, for Enterprise Esports, who secured yet another championship with a clean and lightning-fast 3–0 sweep over Team Liquid Academy. The Czech organization therefore closed out the NORTH//EAST Challengers Split 3 in style. Almost untouchable throughout this stage, Enterprise now looks like the clear favorite heading into the upcoming EMEA Challengers, scheduled to take place from September 1 to 9.
Their current status comes not only from this latest run of dominance but also from consistent strength since the very start of the season. After finishing in the top 3 during Split 1, capturing the following stage, and most importantly winning the previous EMEA Challengers, Enterprise has established itself as a true titan and perhaps the team to beat in the weeks ahead. Team Liquid Academy, on the other hand, found themselves back in contention this Split 3 after opening the year with a first-place finish, followed by a disappointing collapse in the next segment.
A fast series
That set the stage for Sunday’s Split 3 grand final, pitting the winners of the previous two splits against each other. But what many expected to be a clash of champions quickly turned into a one-sided affair. Jasiek “jas” Nieliwodzki opened the series for Enterprise with a crushing 13–5 on Ascent. Roman “rexxtoned” Zhuravlev, the Russian Sentinel anchoring Team Liquid Academy, was the lone bright spot for his team, but even his efforts weren’t enough to prevent Enterprise from taking the lead.
On Corrode, the second map, TL Academy continued to struggle and could only scrape together six rounds, once again leaning on rexxtoned to keep them afloat. On the other side, led by jas, the Czech squad kept pressing forward and claimed the map 13–6, securing a comfortable 2–0 advantage. That left only Haven, the third and final battleground, where Enterprise sealed the deal without hesitation. Powered by former Fnatic player Domagoj “doma” Fancev on Killjoy and ex-Joblife talent Krzysztof “starki” Lewandrowski, they allowed just two rounds and closed the series with a brutal 13–2 finish.
The team has already secured its spot at the Ascension tournament, where they will face five other European squads — including BBL PCIFIC — with a single VCT EMEA slot on the line.
