Theorycraft Games, a studio founded by former Riot Games developers, has confirmed the
gradual wind-down of SUPERVIVE, with its live service set to conclude at the end of February. In a
video addressed to the community, the
Executive Producer Jessica Nam said the decision was difficult, underscoring the studio’s attachment to the MOBA and to its dedicated core player base. She also retraced the project’s trajectory from the earliest combat prototypes to the
“Project Loki” playtests and the eventual launch, emphasising that there had always been something
”magical” about
SUPERVIVE’s foundational gameplay.
Over time, the team says it explored multiple approaches to better surface that strength, without achieving results it considered sufficient. Despite a substantial number of downloads, promotional efforts, and first-time trials,
most new players did not remain beyond their initial hours with the game. With active player numbers declining,
Theorycraft concluded that continuing the service is no longer economically sustainable.
Ahead of the shutdown, the studio will still release Patch 2.04 this week, introducing a new prototype mode titled "Prisma Party". The update will also include the final skin bundle, which Theorycraft says will be distributed to all players free of charge. Patch 2.04 is presented as the final planned update before the live service ends in late February.
Regarding recent purchases, Theorycraft adds that players who feel they did not receive adequate value may contact support to request a refund for items bought within the last three months. In partner regions, requests will be handled by local publishers in accordance with their respective policies. Jessica Nam closes by addressing the studio’s future: Theorycraft intends to draw lessons from this experience and pivot toward games positioned more squarely between indie and AAA, while cautioning that the team may go quiet for a period as it prepares its next project.
