Months after the departure of its roster, ViV Esport has yet to compensate all of its former members
Last June, the entire roster of ViV Esport, a Division 2 team in the LFL, announced their departure from the organization. A very rare situation for a team in the middle of the season. The French organization had to assemble a new roster as a result.
In a statement shared on Twitter, the former team explains their departure. They highlight a series of financial and operational issues that profoundly affected their experience within the team. At the beginning of the season, the team was allegedly assured that players' salaries were already available in an account, but this promise turned out to be empty.
Financial problems began to emerge as the "media day" approached, particularly concerning last-minute, significantly more expensive flight tickets. The organization refused to cover the costs, forcing the players to pay out of their own pockets. It was at this point that the team realized the organization had financial troubles, just one week after signing a new player, Julien "Jujutw0" Izzo.
Payment issues continued throughout the season, with players not being paid for months. The team's morale was severely affected, impacting their performance. According to the team members, a poorly organized and underfunded boot camp was another point of contention, with inadequate accommodations and ongoing payment delays.
The final straw that led to their departure was a message indicating that payments for July and August would be delayed until September, despite the arrival of funds from a partner.
The team also mentionned numerous unfulfilled promises, chaotic communication, and the inability to be paid on time as the reasons for their departure.
Sources close to Sheep Esports have reported new information more than three months after the former team's departure. These sources indicate that the replacement roster had significant communication issues with the French organization, ViV Esports.
Furthermore, it appears that former members of the organization, such as the mental coach "Kevin BTD" and the bot laner Caliste "Caliste" Henry-Hennebert, are still awaiting payments dating back to the beginning of the year. Sources report that this situation persists.
