Sylvan is coming back in VCT Pacific after one split off
Controller Ko "Sylvan" Young-sub signed on October 23 with Team Secret to join the team in 2026, sources tell Sheep Esports on Monday. This will be the third team the player will have been on in VCT Pacific after his departure from T1 earlier this year.
After another very complicated season in VCT Pacific, Team Secret is looking to improve its roster for the upcoming year. Sylvan, on his part, will be looking to regain his early-season form that had allowed him to win the Masters Bangkok with T1.
Finally the time for Team Secret?
With only two BO3s won throughout the entire VCT season, Team Secret failed to shine this season. Despite three changes at the dawn of Stage 2, the results did not improve. The team is therefore working hard to change its roster and perhaps finally take off in 2026.
The changes began last month. The organization decided to part ways with Sha "ZesBeeW" Mohtar after a split with the team. For the controller role, many players were trialed starting from September. Among these players, we notably found Kim "Cloy" Min-gyu, who plays in Challengers Korea, as well as Dastan "dos9" Zhumagali, who recently joined Karmine Corp. Sylvan was also part of these trials, and the team ultimately decided to choose him for the role.
A former champion who still has everything to prove
Arrived on VALORANT in 2020 after a short period of playing Overwatch, Sylvan joined T1 at the end of 2024 to compete in the VCT Pacific with the team the following year. T1 achieves its best results with him by finishing as runner-up in the kickoff and winning the Masters Bangkok. Sylvan plays a big role in this victory and shines with a good performance in the final against G2 Esports.
However, upon reaching Stage 1, the team encounters more difficulties and can no longer make their collective performances shine as they did at the kickoff. Sylvan pays for these poor performances and is replaced by Kang "DH" Dong-ho in Stage 2. He thus finds a new landing spot in the Filipino-European organization and will try to prove that he can still be among the best players in the region.
