KOI Fénix to Conduct Additional Tryouts Ahead of Split 3
This move represents a pivotal moment in Michail "globeX" Kostylew’s career. Per sources, the Russo-Polish player is set to temporarily fill the vacancy left by Ondřej "MONSTEERR" Petrů at KOI Fénix to compete at the second edition of this year's Challengers EMEA. MONSTEERR was indeed recently elevated to KOI's VALORANT primary lineup after securing the title at the Challengers Spain: Rising with the academy roster, as previously reported by Sheep Esports, and the team therefore needed to find a replacement. Sources also indicate that KOI intends to conduct additional tryouts before the start of Split 3 to determine who will assume the Czech Controller’s role on a more permanent basis.
GlobeX’s experience at the high level remains relatively limited. His most notable achievement to date is qualifying for VCL East at the end of 2023 and, above all, reaching the finals of the league during the first split of 2024 as part of Chipi Chapa’s. However, his team saw diminished results in Split 2, finishing fifth. After that, globex was selected to represent the UK at the Spike Nations#5. Since the beginning of 2025, he has been competing within the MENA region under the banner of 3BL Esports.
Full of confidence
His trajectory there has mirrored his earlier stint with Chipi Chapa’s, as he played a key role in securing 3BL’s promotion to Stage 2 of the MENA Challengers, finishing the tournament with the highest VLR 2.0 rating (1.60) Before potentially participating in this Stage 2 with the Egyptian organization, globeX now faces a significant opportunity to prove himself on the EMEA stage.
