The entire G2 coaching staff is now under renewed contracts
Five out of five for G2 Esports. Jonas "Memento" Elmarghichi is set to renew his contract with G2 in the League of Legends EMEA Championship (LEC), sources tell Sheep Esports on Tuesday. With this extension, the team’s entire management staff is now fully secured, giving G2 stability heading into the next competitive season.
As previously announced by the organization, Romain Bigeard, Dylan Falco, Ismael "Isma" Pedraza, and Rodrigo "Rodrigo" Domingues Oliveira had renewed their deals just before Worlds 2025 in China. Memento is now the final piece to extend his contract, completing the lineup of coaches and ensuring continuity across the entire staff.
Third Year of Coaching
Approaching 30, the Swedish-Moroccan coach is set to begin his third year in coaching, a role he started in 2024 with NORD Esports in the NLC before joining G2 in the LEC. Before that, Memento had a long professional playing career across Europe, gaining valuable experience along the way.
Memento began his playing career in the LVP, had a brief stint in the LCL, before moving to the EU LCS with Team ROCCAT, Giants Gaming, and later to the EUCS with FC Schalke 04 Esports and the LEC. He then continued competing in the ERL, with spells at ad hoc gaming, Vitality.Bee, GameWard, and Mirage Elyandra.
If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it
G2 is therefore keeping the same management structure to lead its LEC roster: Dylan Falco at the helm, Isma as performance coach, Romain as GM for the past four years, and finally Rodrigo and Memento as assistants. This year, G2 has shattered the glass ceiling that had held them back for several seasons, reaching the quarterfinals at Worlds after a triumphant victory in the LEC Summer Split.
