The 19-year-old will slide into a competitive roster with LEC experience eager to win Germany's Prime League
G2 Esports return to European Regional Leagues (ERLs) in Germany’s Prime League will be locked by including American-imported midlaner Alex “Toasty” Chea, sources close to Sheep Esports can confirm. Following Alan "Busio" Cwalina’s move to Karmine Corp in the LEC, Toasty becomes the second North American player to join Europe this offseason. However, he is not the only one who received offers: BK ROG Esports also explored multiple North American options earlier in the transfer window.
Toasty drew interest from several North American Tier‑2 organizations for both the midlane and support positions, including potential affiliates of Cloud9 and FlyQuest.
Although young, the 19-year-old has been competing for several years now. Over the past two years, he has experienced a meteoric rise, competing in the North American Challengers League and playing almost one hundred games. Toasty represented Cincinnati Fear and Supernova and spent a full year with DarkZero Dragonsteel and Maryville University’s collegiate program in 2024 and 2025, respectively.
G2 Nord, G2 Esports academy born from the partnership with NORD Esports, had narrowed down their options to Tarek “Sayn” Djoghlaf and Toasty. The team, who will be led by former GIANTX coach Nicolas Perez, decided to go with the American over the Algerian. Earlier in the offseason, they had also considered 17-year-old Hamza “Panda2” Siala.
Investing in the future
G2 Nord's final roster will mix experience with prospects overflowing with potential. Jungler Mark "Markoon" van Woensel spent several years competing in LEC. Both support Timo "Tockimo" Bock and toplaner Francesco "Shelfmade" Cardia have been mainstays on Prime League. The latter was considered for Fnatic's 2026 LEC roster. Bot laner, Khalil "Rin" Sahraoui was coveted by both LEC and LFL teams after reaching EMEA Masters Summer Finals.
The average age of this roster is 21.4, leaning on the young side. After poaching one of North America's most promising talents, G2 Nord will look to break Berlin International Gaming's dominance over the Prime League and establish itself as a possible force to conquer EMEA Masters in 2026.
G2 Nord's 2026 reported roster:
- Top: Francesco "Shelfmade" Cardia
- Jungle: Mark "Markoon" van Woensel
- Midlane: Alex "Toasty" Chea
- AD Carry: Khalil "Rin" Sahraoui
- Support: Timo "Tockimo" Bock
- Head Coach: Nicolas Perez
