Goodbye to Berlin’s cold, hello to the Los Angeles sunshine. Emanuel "Emi" Ursachi is set to join Dignitas as an assistant coach, sources tell Sheep Esports. He will be part of the coaching staff under Simon "Swiffer" Papamarkos, who was previously reported by Sheep Esports as the team’s new Head Coach. Emi will reunite with Lee "IgNar" Dong-geun, who also joined the team and was in his team at GIANTX.

At GIANTX, the year was defined by constant middle-of-the-pack finishes, with the team never managing to break the ceiling above them or surpass G2 Esports, Movistar KOI, Karmine Corp, and Fnatic. Emi and GX placed fifth in all three LEC splits, closing out a year under the leadership of Head Coach André "Guilhoto" Pereira Guilhoto.

A new adventure across the Atlantic

Emi will now join Dignitas in the LCS, a bottom-tier team throughout 2025 in LTA North across all three splits. Beyond Swiffer stepping in as Head Coach, the team has also strengthened its staff with the arrival of their new General Manager Jonathon “Jonathon” McDaniel, while retaining their toplaner Kyeong "Photon" Gyu-tae, who joined last summer.

In an interview following their loss to Fnatic in the Summer Split, GIANTX coach Guilhoto reflected on the roles within the GX coaching staff. He explained that “Emi helps me with the drafts and scouting” — a game-focused role, but one that also highlights his versatility within GIANTX’s highly diversified coaching structure.

Emi began his coaching career in late 2018 with Crvena zvezda Esports before joining Giants, where he won the LVP as an assistant coach. He then moved through several teams such as Zero Tenacity, K1CK, and GameWard in the LFL. After that, he served as Head Coach for Twisted Minds in the Arabian League before joining GX in the summer of 2024.
