The LPL had a perfect day with three victories
The second day of the 2025 Worlds Swiss Stage concludes, and this time there are no huge upsets, except for CTBC Flying Oyster’s win over T1. CFO continue to confirm their status as a top-tier team this year. The LPL has a perfect day, winning all three BOs: Top Esports defeat 100 Thieves, Anyone's Legend take down Gen.G, and Bilibili Gaming hand Fnatic their second loss.
Four teams now sit at 2-0, just one BO3 away from the Knockout Stage: AL, CFO, KT Rolster, and Top Esports. Four other teams are at 0-2, also one BO3 away from elimination: Vivo Keyd Stars, Movistar KOI, Fnatic, and PSG Talon. The teams currently balanced at 1-1 are 100 Thieves, BLG, FlyQuest, G2 Esports, Gen.G, T1, Team Secret Whales, and Hanwha Life Esports.
Not the expected results
At the start of Worlds, few expected these four teams to be sitting at 2-0 after the second day. The absence of Gen.G, T1, and BLG — due largely to the draw, or in BLG’s case, a poor performance against 100T — shows that this Swiss Stage has already delivered its share of surprises. The day began with FlyQuest taking a win in what was a remake of the LTA final against VKS.
KT Rolster then secured a tight BO3 victory over Team Secret Whales. G2 dominated Movistar KOI thanks to a standout performance from Steven "Hans Sama" Liv on Yunara, helping G2 stay afloat. Top Esports logically stomped 100 Thieves, with Lin "Creme" Jian delivering a strong game on Ryze. Probably the biggest surprise of the day was CFO’s win over T1 in a closely contested BO.
Were you expecting T1 to lose against CTBC Flying Oyster?
Chiu "Doggo" Tzu-Chuan completely carried his team on Draven with a 6/0/12 line, solo kills, and an imperial Qiyana from Yu "JunJia" Chun-chia, securing the 2-0 for CFO. Rek’Sai fell for the third time in these Worlds at the hands of Choi "Doran" Hyeon-joon, and aside from Li "Flandre" Xuan-jun, no one managed to make the pick work.
Morgana didn't work
AL defeated Gen.G in what was the best BO of the day, highlighted by a good performance from Cui "Shanks" Xiao-jun on Taliyah, clutching multiple fights. BLG then cruised past Fnatic, who had attempted a special draft featuring Morgana support that ultimately failed. Zhao "Shad0w" Zhi-Qiang stepped into the jungle to replace Yang "Beichuan" Ling, performing excellently, and on Naafiri, completely carried the game to give BLG their first win.
Finally, the day closed with Hanwha Life Esports taking a controlled victory over PSG Talon. Notably, Kim "Zeka" Geon-woo secured a quadrakill on Aurora, also marking Bard’s third win in these Worlds for only one loss, all three coming from LCK supports.
