Only toplaner Sinmivak will leave the team this offseason
In an unusually early offseason move, UCAM Esports have announced on Tuesday the renewal of its entire staff and player roster through the end of 2026. Only toplaner Jakub "Sinmivak" Rucki won't stay in the team for personal reasons. The Spanish organization becomes one of the few in European League of Legends to commit to such a long-term project — something almost unheard of in esports at the ERL level.
UCAM’s 2025 campaign ended on a bittersweet note. Despite finishing 3rd in the Superliga, their best results since joining the league in 2024, and showing strong form in the final stretch of the year, a poor Winter split left them short of EMEA Masters qualification. Given those results, neither the roster nor the organization seemed poised for a massive upgrade in the offseason. Instead, UCAM doubled down on stability and locked its project for next year.
A bet on stability in a volatile ecosystem
Roster volatility has long been a staple of regional leagues. Short contracts, fast rebuilds, and constant turnover often prevent teams from developing a real long-term identity. UCAM’s choice stands as a strong contrast: a rare wager on growth through time and consistency rather than immediate reinvention.
CEO Marco Mourão celebrated the move on X: “Very happy to be able to build a long-term project and give continuity to 90% of the team through 2026. Our idea was to keep 100%, but due to personal reasons Sinmivak won’t continue. I believe this core of players can bring us great things.” With Sinmivak departing, UCAM will have one slot to fill, but the core remains untouched.
The renewed roster will soon return to training in preparation for the Iberian Cup this November — their first chance to prove that stability can translate into results. If UCAM’s bet pays off, this could be a blueprint for other ERL teams searching for a different way to compete in an increasingly fast ecosystem. For now, one thing is certain: UCAM is building for the long run, not just the next split.
