Four teams battling for a final Worlds spot
The unified League of Legends American region now approaches the decisive stretch of its inaugural season. Following three splits, each with its own format, the Split 3 top three teams from LTA North and LTA South will converge at Credit Union of Texas Event Center from September 13 to 28 for the LTA Championship, which will crown the region’s sole champion. The tournament also carries another critical stake: qualification for Worlds.
FlyQuest and Vivo Keyd Stars, Summer champions of LTAN and LTAS, respectively, have already secured their places at the world championship. Both teams will enter the Championship from the upper bracket final, ensuring they finish within the top three and thus remain guaranteed Worlds participants. The third and final ticket will be claimed by one of the four remaining contenders: 100 Thieves (LTAN #2), Shopify Rebellion (LTAN #3), RED Canids (LTAS #2), and paiN Gaming (LTAS #3).
Advantage to LTAN
These four teams will begin their campaign in the lower bracket quarterfinals, leaving them no margin for error. The opening fixtures will pit each conference’s second seed against the other’s third: 100 Thieves vs. paiN Gaming and RED Canids vs. Shopify Rebellion. The last time the two conferences went head-to-head, at the conclusion of Split 1, all four teams from the North defeated their Southern opponents
The winners will clash in the next round, with the victor earning the last available Worlds berth. Every match in the tournament will be played in a best-of-five format under the Fearless Draft system. This article will track the bracket as it unfolds.
