Care locked in the first Viego outside of the jungle this year across all major leagues
The Knockout Stage of LPL Split 2 kicked off with two rather one-sided best-of-fives. Top Esports overcame FunPlus Phoenix in four games, while Bilibili Gaming completely dominated Invictus Gaming with a swift clean sweep. This performance confirms BLG’s strong form since the arrival of their new jungler Yang "Beichuan" Ling.
TES have secured their spot in the Upper Bracket Semifinals, where they’ll face BLG for a place in the Upper Bracket Final. That match is set for Monday, June 2. On the other side, FPX and IG will meet in an elimination best-of-five in the Lower Bracket on Wednesday, June 4.
Two one-sided best-of-fives
It was clear today’s matches weren’t going to be the closest, even though some doubts lingered around IG—the most feared team during Knight’s Rivals—but BLG quickly swept away any uncertainty. After a dominant Split 1 followed by a chaotic First Stand, TES have bounced back stronger than ever. As the first seed of the regular season, they dropped the opening game to FPX but steamrolled the rest of the series.
Bai "369" Jia-Hao locked in Yorick in Game 2 and topped the damage charts, making a massive impact across the map. In Game 3, the MVP title went to Seo "Kanavi" Jin-hyeok for a solid Poppy performance, while Yu "JackeyLove" Wen-Bo dealt the most damage on Miss Fortune. The final game belonged to Lin "Creme" Jian, who posted a 0/2/16 scoreline on Ahri. TES are looking dominant in the LPL once again—and this series proved it.
On the BLG side, it was a quick and decisive 3-0. In Game 1, Chen "Bin" Ze-Bin took over on Ambessa with a dominant 6/1/10 performance, topping the damage charts and setting the tone for the rest of the series. His impact in the toplane gave BLG the perfect start.
It clearly worked—Luo "ON" Wen-Jun landed clutch engages on Rell in Game 2, while Bin’s Yorick once again showcased just how hard the champion can pressure enemy defenses. In Game 3, ON picked up the MVP honors again, this time on Rakan. Despite a solid showing from Kang "TheShy" Seung-lok on Jayce, the game was another stomp. A clean 3-0 secures BLG’s spot in the next round.
Sunday’s matches will see Anyone’s Legend step onto the stage as clear favorites in their best-of-five against Team WE. Later in the day, JD Gaming will take on Weibo Gaming in what promises to be a much more closely contested series.
