Fnatic, Team BDS and Karmine Corp featured in the Team of the Week
Start of the regular season of the League of Legends EMEA Championship Summer Split 2025 with an opening week featuring six best-of-threes. Karmine Corp and Fnatic kicked off the split in style with two wins each, Team BDS also came out on top against SK Gaming, and GIANTX clean swept Team Vitality.
The Sheep Esports' LEC Team of the Week — with two players per team maximum — features Shin "Rooster" Yun-hwan in the toplane, Iván "Razork" Martín Díaz in the jungle, Yoon "Poby" Sung-won in midlane, Caliste "Caliste" Henry-Hennebert as AD Carry, and Raphaël "Targamas" Crabbé as Support. Poby is our MVP of the week, as he delivered strong performances in both best-of-threes against Team Heretics and SK Gaming.
Top: Rooster
A strong debut for BDS’s new toplaner, who arrived from South Korea less than two months ago, where he was still playing with Hanwha Life Esports Challengers in the LCK CL. His move to Europe has gone smoothly so far—BDS played only one series this week, a best-of-three against SK Gaming, and the Korean rookie posted an impressive combined scoreline of 11/5/19 across both games. He remained deathless in the first game on Aurora, and followed up with a standout performance on Jayce, topping the damage charts by a wide margin. While SK may not be the strongest opponent in the league—and with Park "DnDn" Geun-woo also just settling into the SK toplane—this time, it was Rooster who made the statement.
Jungle: Razork
Fnatic delivered a perfect 2-0 week to start off the LEC Summer Split, with their mid-jungle duo standing out as a major highlight. Their opening series against Team Heretics was a bit shaky at first, but the team managed to secure the win, with Razork stepping up big in the decisive Game 3 on Trundle. Their second BO of the week against SK was much smoother, including a Game 2 where the Spanish jungler pulled out a full AP Maokai, showcasing strong synergy with his new midlaner. Razork remains one of the vocal leaders of this Fnatic roster, which is once again enjoying a solid regular season—having already played half of it.
Mid: Poby (MVP)
A thunderous debut for Fnatic’s new midlaner—whether in lane or in teamfights, Poby delivered across the board and seems to be in a honeymoon phase with the team. His synergy with Razork is already taking shape after just two best-of-threes, and the Korean rookie midlaner came close to a perfect week. In their first BO against Team Heretics and Kamil "Kamiloo" Haudegond, Poby shone on Orianna in Game 1, building a huge CS lead and opting for an aggressive build that reflects his forward-thinking playstyle. His Game 3 Syndra was equally crisp—ending with a 6/0/5 scoreline and showing strong mastery of control mages in the midlane.
The second BO of the week was even more impressive. He opened once again with a solid Orianna performance—a champion currently trending among T1 midlaners, as Lee "Faker" Sang-hyeok’s recent form on the champion is great—then followed it up with an excellent Yone game, landing multiple clutch ultimates on three-man hits to turn fights and help Fnatic close out the week 2-0. With this strong showing, Fnatic are now nearly locked in for playoffs. Poby not only makes our Team of the Week, but also earns the title of Most Valuable Player of the Week for the opening round of the LEC Summer Split.
ADC: Caliste
For the botlane, we’ve chosen to highlight Karmine Corp’s duo of Caliste and Targamas, who put on two excellent showings and were key contributors in KC’s pair of victories to start the LEC Summer Split. Against Natus Vincere, Caliste posted a combined score of 14/1/12 on Xayah and Ezreal, topping the damage charts in both games. But beyond the numbers, it was his clutch plays that stood out—especially in Game 2, where a dominant level two transition led to a first blood in botlane. From there, the snowball was brutal, and the rest of KC had little to do as Caliste was simply untouchable.
Their second series saw another strong display from Caliste on the same two champions. Game 1 on Ezreal was a highlight, with relentless poke and high accuracy on Mystic Shots. Game 2 on Aphelios proved more difficult, and this time it was Oh "Noah" Hyeon-taek who stole the spotlight. But Karmine bounced back in Game 3 to secure the series and close out the week with a clean 2-0 record, just like Fnatic.
Support: Targamas
To round out our Team of the Week, it’s Targamas who takes the support spot alongside his AD Carry. As mentioned earlier, in the series against NAVI, it was KC’s level two power spike in botlane that turned the tide—and it all started with a flash engage from Targamas’ Nautilus, landing a perfectly timed hook onto Lee "Hans SamD" Jae-hoon to secure first blood and set the pace for the rest of the game.
The second BO against GIANTX proved to be more challenging, particularly in Game 1 with his Neeko. However, it was Targamas who delivered the decisive moment with a flash ultimate that hit all five GIANTX players, effectively sealing the win for Karmine Corp. Game 2, despite ending in a loss, still featured a solid performance on Thresh from the Belgian support. And to close out the week, he returned to Rakan to pair up once again with Caliste’s Xayah, helping KC secure another clean series and finish the week undefeated.
