CFO keeps Chawy and Wulala, while Kaiwing, HongQ and JunJia are already out
After negotiations, CTBC Flying Oyster won’t see their miracle roster completely dismantled. The organization has announced the re-signing of head coach Wong "Chawy" Xing Lei and assistant coach Liu "Wulala" Sheng-Wei, who worked together on the team’s coaching staff throughout the historic 2025 season.
CFO retains the strategic core behind their success, though the lineup will look very different from its 2025 iteration. Tsai "HongQ" Ming-Hong, Yu "JunJia" Chun-Chia, and Ling "Kaiwing" Kai-Wing have already departed, while Chiu "Doggo" Tzu-Chuan is reportedly expected to join an LPL team despite being under contract until 2026. So far, none of the remaining players have been officially confirmed, and the contracts of Hsu "Rest" Shih-Chieh and Shen "Driver" Tsung-Hua have expired.
These changes could prove challenging for both the organization and the coaching staff. In his latest Sheep Esports interview during Worlds 2025, Chawy explained how tightly knit the roster was: "I’m very close with our players. Just one word from them or a look into their eyes, I know what to pick, what to do, who should play, and how to draft for them." Now, they must rebuild a project that has lost all its foundational pieces.
Rebuilding Around Chawy's Vision
This season will undoubtedly remain the most memorable in the club’s history—and perhaps even in that of the newly formed LCP. In its debut year, CFO dominated the entire season, capturing victories in all three splits to complete the regional Grand Slam. They became the only team worldwide to attend all three international events in 2025. At Worlds 2025, CFO made history as the first Southeast Asian squad to reach the Top 8 since Flash Wolves and ahq eSports Club in 2015.
