will entirely disband its
League of Legends section and will not compete in the TCL Summer 2026, the team announced on Friday. “
We have decided to bring to an end our journey in the League of Legends esports arena, which we began in 2023, as of June 2026,” the Turkish organization wrote on X.
“Over the past three years, we have not only become a team, but also a true family. Throughout this journey, we have done everything in our power to support TCL's growth and help advance the Turkish League of Legends scene.”
Founded in 2023, MISA withdrew from the league just months after winning their third TCL championship in Spring 2026 against PCIFIC Esports. While, per sources, the reasons for the disbandment remain primarily financial, this decision leaves the most powerful organization in the TCL this year to end its season after a 0–3 loss to
in the EMEA Masters Spring quarterfinals.
An unsustainable environment
The league has faced increasing difficulties in recent times, with several organizations leaving due to an environment considered insufficiently sustainable for teams. Initially considered a major region with access to the Worlds Play-ins for the TCL champion through 2022, the league was integrated into the ERL circuit in 2023.
Since then, several major organizations from the region have disappeared: Istanbul Wildcats,
Beşiktaş Esports, Papara SuperMassive, and ULF Esports. MISA's complete disbandment adds to the TCL's instability, eliminating one of its most successful recent organizations from the Summer 2026 split.
The organization's CEO Ziyad Misali had already expressed frustration after the EMEA Masters defeat, suggesting the project's failure was irreversible. "After this, I have no stronger card left to play for TCL. It didn't work out, I couldn't do it." Now, with the entire LoL section disbanded, MISA will not be present in the TCL Summer 2026, leaving the league without one of its three-time champion teams.
From back-to-back-to-back TCL champions to disbandment
MISA started the year with a roster built to dominate the ERLs, featuring AD carry Byeon "
" Jeong-hyeon (signed by Team Heretics after LEC Versus), support Paul “
” Lardin (who replaced Han "
" Gil ahead of EMEA Masters), jungler Okan "
" Balcı, toplaner Onurcan "
" Aslan, and midlaner Seo "
" Ye-bit. The roster reached the lower-bracket final of EMEA Masters but suffered a crushing reverse-sweep loss to
after leading 2–0, a defeat that would have secured them qualification for the EWC EMEA Qualifier.
Following the loss at EMEA Masters Winter, disturbing moves began surfacing during the Spring split, with Stend, 113, and assistant coaches HirumaY and Nalkya all entering free agency. Eventually, they started the spring split with three different players, only keeping Ragner and 113 and got their third title in a row in TCL despite the changes. But there won’t be a fourth for what was the greatest Turkish organisation for a year and a half.
