La Faille arrives in the Centre-Val de Loire region
While the Equal Esports Cup 2025 is currently underway and the League of Legends Game Changers (LGC) Rising tournament looms on the horizon, a new initiative is stepping onto the European women’s competitive scene. Organized by the French nonprofit association La Faille des Invocatrices, the tournament will unfold in two stages: an online qualifying phase held over the weekend of August 23–24, followed by best-of-five offline finals on Saturday, October 25, in the Centre-Val de Loire region. Open to all women, the competition — true to its name — will require each team to field at least two French players.
An Ambitious Endeavour
Founded in October 2024, La Faille des Invocatrices is an association created by women, for women, with the mission of promoting inclusivity within esports and the broader gaming ecosystem. Best known for its women-only League of Legends community Discord server, the organization now brings together more than 350 players of varying skill levels. Over the past year, it has also run mentorship programs — supported by professional players and coaches — as well as online tournaments, offline meetups, and a wide range of additional initiatives.
Aiming to spotlight women in the competitive scene, the event will extend beyond the tournament itself, with several activities available on-site during the offline finals and open to the general public. However, the core competition will remain exclusively for women. To support the growing women’s scene, the finals will feature a €2,000 prize pool along with dedicated funding to cover travel expenses for both finalist teams — all while ensuring free participation for every team, whether in the qualifiers or the finals. Further details will be shared by the end of the month on the association’s official Twitter account.
