For every minute T1 or FLY spend on stage, 5 dollars will be donated to an association
Before their opening match of the 2025 Worlds against T1 on Wednesday, FlyQuest announced that they would repeat a charity operation already done last year. By partnering with its first opponent, T1, the team committed to donating an amount of money to a charity chosen by the Korean team, which will do the same with a charity chosen by FlyQuest. This amount will depend on the time spent in the Summoner's Rift by both teams throughout the competition.
Last year, FlyQuest had already launched a similar operation starting from the quarterfinals of the tournament. The team had committed to donating ten dollars for every minute played on stage during all the quarterfinals and semifinals. The beneficiary association of these donations was the Société protectrice des animaux (SPA), which has been working for the welfare of animals in France for many years. With the BO5 against Gen.G that ended after five games, FlyQuest announced they would donate $5,418 to the association as a result.
An association still focused on the animal field
This time, FlyQuest is repeating the operation by supporting Alveus Sanctuary. It is a non-profit organization that houses non-releasable animals and provides online conservation education, primarily through 24/7 live-streamed content on Twitch and produced content on YouTube. Which means that for every minute T1 spends on stage during these Worlds, five dollars will be donated to Alveus Sanctuary by the reigning world champion. FlyQuest will do the same in return by donating five dollars to a charity chosen by T1. The Korean team should announce it soon.
Through their statement published on X, FlyQuest also announces another condition. For every 10,000 followers gained on X and Instagram, the donation will increase by 1 dollar per minute. A way to also include fans and the public in this initiative. For this new operation, the team has the chance to partner with T1. In addition to being among the contenders for the final victory, T1 has never been further than a semi-final at the Worlds, which raises hopes for a good fundraising for Alveus Sanctuary.
For now, the teams have recorded two matches during the competition. The match between the two teams, which turned in favor of T1, lasted 34 minutes. On top of that, FlyQuest won in 31 minutes against Vivo Keyd Stars and T1 lost in 32 minutes against CTBC Flying Oysters. That would therefore amount to $325 to give to FlyQuest and $330 to T1.
