Misa and BKR set for quarterfinal clash
The favorites delivered on expectations this Wednesday at the outset of the EMEA Masters Spring playoffs. Misa Esports (TCL #2) and BK ROG (LFL #1) secured wins in their Round of 16 matches, setting up a highly anticipated showdown in the next stage. The Turkish squad looked particularly dominant, dismantling eSuba (Hitpoint Masters #2) with a clean 3–0 sweep. In a bloody series, Baek "Mihile" Sang-hwi and his teammates closed out all three games in under 30 minutes.
eSuba, powerless in the first two games, might have turned the tide in the third thanks to a stellar start from Fatih "Fade" Kurşun. The Turkish midlaner, arguably eSuba’s standout performer on the day, surged to a 6–0 lead on Yasuo. Yet despite this early momentum, he was unable to carry his team to a victory. Oh "callme" Ji-hoon’s Tristana responded in kind, finishing the game with an impressive 10/3/14 stat line. Ironically, the match that seemed most promising for eSuba ended up being the shortest, with the Nexus falling at 26:30.
BK ROG Tested
While Misa has looked imperious throughout the competition—remaining undefeated on their way to the quarterfinals—BK ROG showed signs of vulnerability against StormMedia Fajnie Mieć Skład (RL #2). Already tested by BIG during the group stage, the French champions appeared shaky in the opening game against the Polish team. Struggling against FMS’s early-game aggression, BK ROG ceded the initial advantage. Although they briefly managed to claw their way back, they were ultimately overwhelmed by Dominik "Zamulek" Biela’s Jhin (11/1/7) and dropped the first game.
BK ROG, however, quickly regained control and reasserted the pecking order. Šimon "OMON" Říháček and his teammates dictated the pace for the remainder of the series, with the midlaner even securing a quadrakill on Ryze at the end of game two. Théo "Booshi" Mouchiroud embraced his carry role in games three and four, finishing with a KDA of 9/1/2 on Kai’Sa and 11/2/7 on Miss Fortune. Though the LFL representative ultimately prevailed, it is unlikely they will be afforded the same margin for error against Misa in the quarterfinals.
The two teams will face off on June 16. In the meantime, the remaining three quarterfinal matchups will be determined over the next few days. On Thursday, one of the two NLC teams will be eliminated in the clash between Los Ratones (seed 2) and NORD Esports (seed 1). The TCL is also set to lose one of its three remaining teams, as Boostgate Esports (seed #1) and ULF Esports (seed #3) face off following Misa’s earlier victory. Both matches are scheduled to begin at 5:00 PM CET.
