Duro's contract is extended for one more year
On Wednesday, Gen.G announced Joo "Duro" Min-kyu has officially extended his contract with the organization for one more year, securing his place in the team through the 2026 season. After arriving as a relatively unknown rookie at the age of 22 just over a year ago, Duro quickly made a name for himself with a standout 2025 season.
As one of only two players — with Kim "Canyon" Geon-bu — whose contracts were expiring at the end of 2025, Duro’s renewal brings stability to the roster that already has Jeong "Chovy" Ji-hoon and Park "Ruler" Jae-hyuk signed through 2027 and Kim "Kiin" Gi-in through 2026.
Four players locked
His first full year in the most competitive league in the world was remarkable, highlighted by winning the 2025 Mid-Season Invitational (MSI), marking his first international title, and the LCK championship he won without a doubt being one of the best support, if not the best, in the league. The only disappointment for both him and the organization came at Worlds 2025, where they fell short of expectations by being eliminated in the semifinals by KT Rolster.
Despite hopes to finally break the club's longstanding curse of never reaching the grand final since its inception in 2018, they couldn’t advance further. Nevertheless, he emerged as one of the standout new faces to watch at Worlds and has now earned the opportunity to return stronger next year
Duro was also part of Gen.G’s record-breaking winning streak during the 2025 LCK season, where the team broke the longstanding record for consecutive victories T1 held for several years. This extension reflects Gen.G's confidence in Duro’s contributions as a calm and reliable support player, forming a core part of the team's strategy going into 2026.
Gen.G's roster for 2026:
- Top: Kim "Kiin" Gi-in
- Jungle: TBD
- Mid: Jeong "Chovy" Ji-hoon
- ADC: Park "Ruler" Jae-hyuk
- Support: Joo "Duro" Min-kyu
