Adam "Jackies" Jeřábek succeeds to Martin "Yike" Sundelin who earned the Rookie of the Year title in 2023
For his very first year in the League of Legends EMEA Championship (LEC) at only 19 years old, Adam "Jackies" Jeřábek has been designated as Rookie of the Year. Indeed, he has been the player with the most impressive progression this year. Despite all the doubts the public may have had when the Czech has been announced as a starting player in GiantX's roster at the beginning of the year, he now has been logically crowned as many were expecting it. He succeeds G2 Esports' jungler Martin "Yike" Sundelin and one thing is for sure, the region can only wish Jackies to go as far as the Swedish already did.
Jackies is a pure ERL product, playing for Entropiq only for a year in the Czech league, he came as the most unexpected rookies to reach the big leagues. Above all, he took his first steps in the LEC with a struggling team. Although GiantX is a mid-to-lower-tier team, Jackies has consistently showcased his talent, especially during summer split. He has become a genuine threat in the midlane, capable of competing with the league's best at his position.
Himself explains this progression thanks to the arrival of assistant coach Nicolas Perez who helped him fix his overall game knowledge. It showed really quick in Summer Regular Season where he became 1st midlaner in Kills Participation with 76.2%, 1st in Damage Per Minutes with 802 and 2nd in CS Difference at 15 minutes. His overall performance allowed the team to miraculously access the LEC Season Finals and end the year in 6th position despite a very rough start to 2024.
One thing is for sure, we will hear Jackies' name a lot during this offseason as he is expected to be a top prospect in the LEC and that his contract with GiantX is ending, this November.
