The post had over 700,000 views in less than a day
We already knew that the Brazilian League of Legends community is huge, but Kings Lendas 2025 has crossed national borders and won the hearts of European fans. A post by a French fan on X (formerly Twitter) about the tournament organized by Ilha das Lendas got over 700,000 views in less than a day, making the championship go viral in the international community.
Bringing together former professional players, Brazilian Tier 2 players, streamers, and other personalities from the Brazilian community, the tournament takes place during the Worlds Championship and is now in its third season.
Just over a week after the start of Kings Lendas 2025, a post by a French fan popularized the tournament abroad as well: now everyone is having fun - and trying to understand the championship.
“There's a LoL competition in Brazil right now, and these are the teams LOL:”
Two-time CBLOL champion with paiN Gaming, Hugo “Dioud” Padioleau joined the conversation and offered his help so that other foreigners could also better understand the championship:
"This is an off-season tournament that brings together talented players and veterans. They put together their teams and broadcast practices and games. There is no cash prize. The goal is to give back to the community. If you have any questions, I can answer them," wrote the former player.
Mocking names of international teams
What caught the attention of foreign fans the most were the jokes about the names of international teams, such as Fnatic, 100T, and Tepei Esports. Spanish caster David “Champi14” Pérez was also curious about the jokes:
“What is this competition and why are all the teams like when you get together with your friends and create ‘Vodka Juniors’ for the neighborhood league?” he asked.
The creator of Ilha das Lendas, Gustavo "Baiano" Gomes replied to him:
"An event that believes in the idea of creating an ecosystem that connects players and streamers with the community to strengthen this bond and promote the entire scene. The same idea I had at CBOLÃO, but with some adaptations," explained.
“I think it's incredible, really. I'd like to see more things like this in Europe and Spain. Brazilians are a model community and fan base”, replied the caster.
Toucouille gains French fans
Among the many former professional players on the teams, one stood out to French fans: Loïc “Toucouille” Dubois. A fan noticed his presence on G12—a team led by Gustavo ‘Minerva’ Queiroz—and asked, “Wait, Toucouille is on G12, what's that about?”
The player himself replied: “This is a Kings League-style influencer tournament. The teams are made up of eight influencer captains, and the players were chosen in a draft. The tournament mixes influencers and new professionals. Brazilians love it because they get to see their idols playing again after years: it would be like seeing Xpeke (Enrique Cedeño) and Bjergsen (Søren Bjerg) facing each other again and between new generations”, he said.
