Learn all about the League of Legends off-season tournament that is stirring up the Brazilian community
One of the biggest off-season League of Legends championships, Kings Lendas 2025 brings together new talent, streamers, and former professional players in a competition that awards the grand champion with R$ 50,000. More than that, the tournament organized by Ilha das Lendas is moving the Brazilian community and has already won the sympathy of international fans.
Created by Gustavo “Baiano” Gomes, Kings Lendas is one more innovation from Brazil's biggest streamer. Now in its third season, the championship brings together idols from past generations with rising stars and takes place during the Worlds, the LoL world championship - a time when the game is at its peak worldwide.
Inspired by the Kings League, the LoL competition continues until the end of the year. Check out the key information about Kings Lendas 2025 below:
Kings Lendas 2025 structure
The format of Kings Lendas is similar to that adopted by Kings League (a seven-a-side soccer championship created by former Barcelona player Gerard Piqué). The tournament is divided into a group stage and playoffs, with the champions receiving a prize of R$ 50,000 for the grand champions. See the rules for each stage of the competition:
Group stage
The group stage follows a round-robin format, with all teams facing each other once. The games are best-of-three, with the top six teams qualifying for the playoffs.
To add more excitement - and fun - to the championship, the choice of sides is decided after a 1v1 match, where the winning player can decide where to start. The games also follow the Fearless Draft format, where champions chosen in previous matches in the series cannot be repeated.
Playoffs
The most exciting part of Kings Legends begins right after the group stage. The playoffs feature a double-elimination format, where the team that loses twice is eliminated.
The first matchups are based on the teams' positions in the group stage: the third-best team plays against the sixth, while the fourth faces the fifth. In addition, the top two teams advance to the second stage of the playoffs without having to play the first match.
Here, the matches also follow the Fearless Draft format.
Times do Kings Lendas 2025
The Kings Lendas teams are formed through a draft - meaning that each captain (President) can choose one player at a time, following an order where last year's champions are the last to choose, while the bottom teams choose their players first. This year, Oreiudos started choosing, while Karmine Cospe was the last.
What makes Kings Legends even more interesting is the gathering of promising newcomers to the competitive scene with great idols from other generations, such as Felipe “brTT” Gonçalves and Felipe “YoDa” Noronha. See how the teams turned out:
