The
VALORANT Game Changers EMEA circuit is set to return soon for the final chapter of its season. Stage 3 of the competition is scheduled to begin on July 20. Before teams battle for the three coveted spots at the
Game Changers Championship, Riot Games has announced that the Stage 3 Grand Final, taking place on August 30, will once again be held in Istanbul.
For the third consecutive year, the Turkish city will host the competition's Grand Final at the ESA Esports Arena. The winner will secure direct qualification for the Game Changers Championship in November. Tickets for the event will go on sale on August 3.
An obvious choice
As was the case last year, Turkish players make up the largest national contingent in the league heading into Stage 3, with 12 representatives across the competition. One of them, Eda "rezq" Akçocuk, competes for SK Nebula, the winners of Stage 2. Among the six other teams that finished in the top seven during Stage 2, every roster features two Turkish players, with the sole exception of Twisted Minds Orchid, who fields just one. As a result, the home crowd is highly likely to have at least one local representative to support in the Grand Final.
Last year, G2 Gozen claimed the title in the arena with a commanding 3-0 victory over Twisted Minds Orchid in the Grand Final. This year's event will once again offer more than just the championship match. Before the action begins, fans will have the opportunity to meet players and take part in a variety of on-site activities for a chance to win prizes.
The event's main addition this year stems from the scheduling of the competitive calendar, as the
VCT EMEA Stage 2 Finals will take place on the same day. Once the Game Changers champion has been crowned, the entertainment will continue with a watch party of the VCT EMEA Finals inside the arena, offering fans who make the trip a full day of esports action.
