Rocket League Esports World Cup. Under the pseudonym
Mate y Tapa, the Spanish speaking lineup recently qualified for the 2026 World Championship through the
European RLCS Last Chance Qualifier (LCQ), defeating Volare 4-3 in the grand finals. They will compete under the organization in the EWC LCQ on August 08-10
Mate y Tapa formed in June during the build-up to the European LCQ when AtomiK linked up with long-standing Synergy duo Dorito and ajg, replacing fellow countryman Raimon "Rxii" Falgueras Torrent. The move reunited AtomiK and Dorito, who reached the RLCS 2022-23 World Championship together with G1. PCS Stride always planned to support the trio for the Esports World Cup LCQ, despite initially signing Mathieu "Mat." J, Charles "Mozzarella" Magniez, and Keever "Smokez" Ryan for the RLCS LCQ, who earned a 9th-12th place finish under the French organization.
