Spain will rely on the Movistar KOI core for the Esports Nations Cup, as Alex "
Myrwn" Villarejo, Javier "
Elyoya" Prades, and Ălvaro "
Alvaro" FernĂĄndez del Amo are all set to represent âLa Rojaâ at the ENC, sources tell
Sheep Esports. They will join the roster led by coach Alfonso "
Mithy" Aguirre RodrĂguez for the tournament, as previously reported by
Sheep Esports.
As a reminder, a country is only allowed to field a maximum of three players from the same team, which aligns with the fact that KOIâs Spanish AD Carry David "Supa" MartĂnez GarcĂa is not interested in participating in the competition, just like his club coach TomĂĄs "Melzhet" Campelos FernĂĄndez, who will also not be part of the event.
In Search of Two Carries
Having secured their toplaner, jungler, and support, the Spanish team will now only need a midlaner and an AD Carry.
On Sheep Esports, fan votes are unsurprisingly favoring Supa, followed by current GIANTX iTero ADC and former Team Heretics LEC player VĂctor "
Flakked" Lirola Tortosa, and finally Sergio "
Legolas" Vicente Gispert in third place.
For the midlane role, thatâs where things could get tricky, as no name really stands out as a clear choice. Community votes are highly split, with LUA Gamingâs RaĂșl "Hydra" Moreno Valero coming in first, GXâs Ismael "Miniduke" MartĂnez CortĂ©s in second, and Barçaâs Sergio "Macaquinho" Bouzende Rodrigues in third.
All information about the ENC 2026
Scheduled from November 2 to 29 for its first edition in Riyadh, the capital of Saudi Arabia, the nation-based competition, the largest in esports history, is expected to bring together thousands of players from around a hundred countries, competing across nearly 16 games. Alongside the League of Legends tournament, set to take place from November 21 to 29, there will also be nation-based competitions in VALORANT, Counter-Strike, Rocket League, and Rainbow Six: Siege. For Riot Gamesâ MOBA title, around 32 teams, each representing a nation, will compete on site.
Before that, the participants still need to be decided. The Esports Foundation, which oversees the ENC and the Esports World Cup (two separate events), has decided that 16 teams out of the 32 will qualify directly for the final tournament, based on the results of their representatives in Riot Gamesâ official competitive circuits. The other participants will have to go through seven regional qualifiers, each offering two spots. The remaining two slots will reportedly be allocated by the ENC in the form of wildcards, likely at the discretion of the event organizers.
