According to sources close to
Sheep Esports, Germany has brought together several names from the Tier 1 EMEA,
Americas, and Tier 2 scenes for the upcoming Esports Nations Cup
VALORANT tournament. Per sources, the German for the ENC roster is expected to consist of:
- Ian "tex" Botsch
- Felix "al0rante" Brandl
- Vincent "Vince" Kranz (In-Game Leader)
- Alessio "musashi" Xhaferi
- Yusuf Emre "Proxh" Tunc
- Luca "azury" Sammer
- Daniel "Zery" Sapovalov
The team will be supported by a structured German staff, with Navid "Kapio" Javadi as head coach. Vincent "Zescht" Talmon-Gros and Sebastian "Sebe" Kruft are expected to serve as assistant coaches. In a competition where national teams will need to establish a shared identity quickly, this foundation could allow Germany to approach the event with a project that already appears relatively clear.
Finding the right balance between individual quality and collective structure.
Beyond the names themselves, this German selection appears to be based on several clear reference points. Tex is one of the main headliners on the roster, having competed at the highest level in the Americas with NRG and later with Leviatán. He brings international experience and is already familiar with elite competition. al0rante is also one of the most recognisable German names in VALORANT, despite a difficult start to the year with PCIFIC Esports.
The roster also benefits from a degree of pre-existing familiarity. Several of these players have crossed paths within the German and wider DACH ecosystem, particularly through VCL competition. For Germany, the Esports Nations Cup will therefore represent a test of its individual depth, as well as an opportunity to see if its domestic talent can come together as a functional collective against other international teams.
Close to the direct invitation
As a reminder, 16 teams will receive a direct invitation to the main event for the VALORANT tournament. Whether a team will be invited directly to the competition depends on the number of points it has, which is determined by its players' performance: each nation’s standing is determined by the combined points of its five highest-scoring players. Germany currently sits at 2,375 points, distributed as follows:
- Ian "tex" Botsch (500 points)
- Felix "al0rante" Brandl (50 points — not included)
- Vincent "Vince" Kranz (600 points)
- Alessio "musashi" Xhaferi (325 points)
- Yusuf Emre "Proxh" Tunc (625 points)
- Luca "azury" Sammer (325 points)
- Daniel "Zery" Sapovalov (100 points — not included)
With this amount, Germany currently sits somewhere between 17th and 20th place in the overall standings, according to Liquipedia's calculations. The country would therefore be among the highest-ranked teams not to qualify directly and would have to earn its spot through the qualification process.
