The story between
and their assistant coach Emre "
Arkhe" Akpınarlı has come to an end after two LEC splits as part of Jonas "
Hidon" Vraa’s coaching staff, sources tell
Sheep Esports on Wednesday. The 22-year-old Turkish coach was under contract until after Worlds 2027, just like Hidon and every player on the roster except
.
The reason for this departure is mainly that the overall expectations didn’t match what Heretics had planned. More broadly, at every level, Heretics is considering a significant number of changes and decisions that still need to be made for the next split.
In a recent interview, Hidon stated that Arkhe was in charge of drafts during games, while he mainly followed, focusing more on the team’s culture. The team also has additional coaches working remotely, with Alfonso "Mithy" Aguirre Rodríguez and Fabian "FEBIVEN" Diepstraten acting more as positional coaches to support Serin.
A Team Still Taking Shape
Changes keep coming for the Spanish organization, which just finished last in the LEC Spring Split, but the overhaul has been ongoing for several weeks now. The team first parted ways with their support
and brought in
. At the same time, they also signed
while still keeping
.
Then came the departure of
, who has since found a spot with
, and was replaced mid-split by Daglas. This time, it’s the assistant coach who has been let go. Team Heretics are still searching for the right formula to finally make their roster work.
The Summer Split resumes in just under three months, and further changes could still happen at Heretics. As previously reported by Sheep Esports, the AD Carry role for Summer is not yet locked, as Hype could join while Ice could also finish the year with the team. Team Heretics will therefore have three months to find the best possible roster, as well as the right coaching staff to support them.
