MVK Esports have qualified for Worlds 2026, which will be held in the United States from October 15 to November 14, becoming the fourth team to secure a spot after
Hanwha Life Esports,
Bilibili Gaming, and their fellow Vietnamese side
Team Secret Whales.
Vietnam will therefore have two representatives at Worlds. MVK are currently guaranteed at least a top-three finish in the
League of Legends Championship Pacific (LCP) Summer Split, but their Worlds qualification came through the
Championship Points they accumulated throughout the year.
The Huge Impact of Summer Split
MVK’s year has been a perfect example of why the Summer is the most important split of the year, especially in the LCP. In Split 1, MVK failed to qualify for the playoffs, finishing a disappointing seventh, with only DetonatioN FocusMe placing lower. Things improved in Split 2 with a top-four finish, but that only earned them 20 Championship Points.
It was really the Summer Split that had the biggest impact on their qualification. With a top-three finish secured, they are guaranteed at least 55 points, giving them enough points to qualify for Worlds even if CFO and TSW take the Summer Split’s two direct Worlds qualification spots as champion and runner-up.
Third Worlds for SofM
The MVK roster is made up of relatively young players who, between the five of them, have only one international appearance. In the toplane, Ngô “Kratos” Đức Khánh is joined by veteran jungler Lương “Gury” Hải Long, the only player who has already played at Worlds. He continues to build his synergy with his midlaner, rookie Võ “Chika” Lê Nhân. The botlane consists of AD Carry Nguyễn “Harky” Văn Hữu and support Nguyễn “SiuLoong” Hoàng Lam.
The roster is led by one of the most historic figures in the Vietnamese scene, Lê “SofM” Quang Duy, who serves as the team’s Co-Owner, Team Leader and Head Coach, while also occasionally stepping in as a jungler. This will be SofM’s third Worlds appearance. As a player, he attended Worlds only once, in 2020 with Suning, where he reached the Finals before losing to DAMWON Gaming. His first appearance as a Head Coach came in 2024, when his team were eliminated in the Play-In stage by paiN Gaming.
