This week in the
LEC produced its fair share of surprises. While
appeared to be on the verge of collapse after an 0â3 start, the Black and Orange finally found their footing, notably defeating reigning champions
. They have thus revived their playoff hopes, while their historic rivals, despite the loss, have still secured a spot in the top four, as have
, who remain unbeaten with two matches still to play.
Following another week of competition,
Sheep Esportsâ Team of the Week, with a maximum of two players per team, features toplaner
, jungler
, midlaner
, AD Carry
, and support
. After two outstanding performances across his two games, Vladi has been named our MVP of the week.
Toplaner: Soboro (Fnatic)
The Korean toplaner finally showcased his talent this week, helping put Fnatic back on the right track. He was outstanding against SK Gaming, setting his team up for an important victory and earning Player of the Game honors after a strong performance on Rumble. He confirmed his resurgence the following day against G2 Esports, where he played a disciplined Ambessa game and followed his teammates in securing another crucial victory.
Jungler: Yike (Karmine Corp)
With only one match on the schedule this week, Karmine Corpâs jungler still managed to stand out. After a strong opening game, he was particularly impressive on his signature pick of the season, Qiyana. He finished four levels ahead of IsmaĂŻl âIsmaâ Boualem, with an almost 8,000 gold lead, and once again broke the CSM record with 9.07 CSM before capping off his performance with a quadra kill.
Midlaner: Vladi (Fnatic)
The Greek midlaner is our MVP of the week. He had faced considerable criticism for his performances during the opening weeks, but he found his form at precisely the right time to reignite his teamâs hopes. Clinical and precise in several key moments on Ryze and Syndra against G2 Esports, he offered a glimpse, over the course of a single series, of the player who won the LEC last year and was named Finals MVP. He was also solid against SK Gaming, delivering a strong performance on Sylas, a champion he appears to favor more.
AD Carry: Caliste (Karmine Corp)
Several ADCs stood out this week, from Elias âUpsetâ Lippâs consistently strong performances to David âSupaâ GarcĂaâs pentakill. Karmine Corpâs French AD Carry also produced a standout performance against GIANTX, remaining virtually untouchable throughout the series. He secured his second career pentakill with KC this season on Caitlyn, closing out Game 1 in style. Once again dominant alongside Alan âBusioâ Cwalina, the duo made the difference and secured KCâs seventh win in as many games.
Support: Alvaro (Movistar KOI)
After struggling during the opening weeks, the Spanish support returned to form in a role that suits him much better. Playing melee and tank champions with Shen and Leona, he was able to follow Javier âElyoyaâ Prades much more effectively, allowing the latter to wreak havoc in Movistar KOIâs early game and leaving NAVI completely unable to respond. Alvaro made the difference with excellent roams and well-executed teamfights throughout the series.
